Essential Operating Tax Levies on the May 6th Ballot

To All Eligible Voters In The Village Of Laurelville

There are two Operating Tax Levies on the ballot on May 6th concerning the Village of Laurelville which are essential to maintain existing services for the Village. One is a 1.4 mill levy for general operating expenses, and one is a 7 mill levy to provide for Police protection in the Village. Both of these levies are listed as Replacement levies, which means the rate of the tax is the same as what the previous levies were (which are expiring), but by listing them as replacement levies, the County Auditor can apply the tax rates at the latest tax assessed property values that the Auditor has on file instead of assessed values that are over  five years old.

It is critical that both of these levies are passed in order to be able to provide for these essential services for the residents of Laurelville. I encourage everyone to vote FOR both tax levies on May 6th.

Sincerely,
Don Kempton
Mayor of Laurelville
